Solid Waste Executive Director Finalists Face Interviews
January 6, 2015 — The Lake County Solid Waste Management District board will publicly interview three finalists for the executive director’s position Thursday night.
According to the “Times,” they are: the district’s attorney Cliff Duggan — Larry Barker, who runs the Bloomington-based Monroe County Solid Waste Management District — and John Minear III, who’s worked in both the public and private sectors managing solid waste issues for the past 22 years.
The solid waste district board’s executive search subcommittee selected the three finalists from a list of more than a dozen applicants. The board will hire a new executive director at its January 15th meeting.
Duggan has been the waste district’s attorney for about two decades and was a friend and adviser of former Lake County waste district Executive Director Jeff Langbehn. Duggan told the “Times” that he played no role in any policy decisions while Langbehn was in charge… and he says he has the experience to continue on as both executive director and the district’s attorney within the director’s salary range.
