Share Tweet Email

The Hoosier Chapter of the Sierra Club says the nation still isn‘t addressing – what they call – the true issues behind rising gas prices. Network Indiana’s Mike Corbin reports…..

Sierra Club Beyond Coal Campaign Representative Jodi Perras says dependence on foreign oil, lack of mass transit, conflict in the middle east, more fuel efficient and electric cars and ending burning coal for electricity remain issues yet to be fully addressed. Perras says from the Sierra Club‘s perspective, people need to examine the national security and health issues involved in burning oil. Perras adds they remain opposed to the highly-touted Keystone XL Pipeline. She says the oil in the pipeline is the dirtiest oil, very expensive to transport and would put the nation at risk for greater oil spills.
