Sheriff Sharing Details, Looking for More, for Lowell Deaths
October 21, 2013 — More information is expected today in the deaths of two people found slain in a rural home in northwestern Indiana.
Lake County Sheriff John Buncich said more information will be provided during a Monday news conference.
Authorities are using dental records and DNA to identify the two people who were found apparently slain in a rural home near Lowell, about 20 miles south of Gary. Buncich says the victims appear to be a man and woman. He says their bodies were in “severe decomposition.”
Buncich says officers discovered the deaths Friday afternoon while making a welfare check at a home near Lowell, about 20 miles south of Gary.
The sheriff says investigators have a person of interest they want to talk to.
