Sheriff Shares Sketch of Child Stalker Suspect
November 8, 2013 — The Lake County Sheriff’s Department is sharing an artist’s composite sketch of a child stalker involved with a report of a sexual crime this week.
Lake County Sheriff John Buncich is warning residents about the possible sex predator who targeted a 14-year-old Gary girl Monday. victimizing her while on her way to school.
Sheriff’s information says she was in the area of 45th and Grant Street in Gary approximately 7:50 a.m. when a man driving a silver-colored vehicle pulled up to her, asking if she was lost.
The Sheriff’s Department says he followed the girl for a short distance and asked if she wanted a ride, which she accepted, driving her to a church parking lot where he forced her to perform a sex act on him before he left the area south on Pierce Street from 47th.
The Sheriff’s Department says the victim was able to leave the scene on foot, describing the suspect as an older, balding, heavy set male, black with grey and black facial hair on his chin, with caramel color skin and wearing a grey t-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
