Seattle sends Harvin to Jets
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets have acquired wide receiver Percy Harvin from Seattle.
Two people familiar with the trade told The Associated Press on Friday that Harvin was headed to the Jets. The people spoke anonymously because the deal was not officially announced by either club.
Harvin was a star in the Seahawks Super Bowl in earlier this year, but has been injury prone throughout his career.
The 26-year-old has played in only 43 career games since being a first-round pick (22nd overall) by Minnesota in 2009. He was traded to the Seahawks in 2013, appearing in just one regular-season game. But he had two rushes for 45 yards and ran back the second-half kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown in Seattle’s 43-8 win over Denver in the Super Bowl.
