School City of East Chicago Needs New Superintendent
October 29, 2013 — The board of school trustees for the School City of East Chicago’s has a new job tonight; it’s searching for a new superintendent.
Superintendent Michael Harding sent a letter to the board asking it to consider and approve his intent to retire.
The board approved Harding’s request tonight during its meeting.
Harding’s final date in the role of superintendent is October 30. President Jesse Gomez says it is critical they find a new superintendent. Gomez says Interim Mary Dywan will handle the superintendent duties until the board hires Harding’s replacement.
