ROCKIN’ IN STUDIO WITH RITO ON THE LAKESHORE
THIS EDITION OF “MIDWEST BEAT with TOM LOUNGES” ORIGINALLY AIRED ON MAY 13, 2014
For this edition of “Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges” the in-studio guests are Lou “Rito” Samaniego and percussionist/drummer Scott Reder, both members of Northwest Indiana’s RITO, an original music project. The project has flourished into an exciting new musical journey for Lou, Scott and like-minded regional guitarist Mike Ferri and keyboardist Mario Samaniego.
Lou began his personal musical journey 30 years ago at the age of 10 and turned professional right out of high school. Growing up in a musical family, Lou learned guitar, bass, piano, and drums at an early age. He has been writing and performing all over the Greater Chicago area for many years; top clubs, festivals, fairs and even on WGN television. Lou received an Emmy nomination for writing and co-producing an NBC morning show commercial and has collaborated on several original projects, leading up to Rito.
“Our musical canvas is large and painted with the colors of each of our influences, blended subtly to offer something unique and familiar,” said Lou of his talented ensemble. On this program, you will hear songs spun from RITO’s self-titled debut CD, an a trio of live acoustic performances, including a brand new tune written after the album was recorded and released.
