Reward Is Offered In Austgen Murder Case

Griffith Police announced a $10-thousand reward for information into the killing of businesswoman Mary Austgen of  St. John.

Griffith Police announced the reward at a Monday news conference, 25 days after Austgen’s body was found inside her SUV parked at Majestic Star Casino in Gary.  Police said she was taken from her business in Griffith on the morning of March 27th and her body was found the next day.  Police said two rings Austgen was wearing were gone.

The suspect was caught by security cameras and police have asked for the public’s help in identifying him.  Anyone with information is asked to call Griffith Police at (219) 924-3141 or Gary Police at (219) 922-3085.
