On Regionally Speaking today: we revisit our conversation with Bo Kemp, the executive director of the Gary Economic Development Corp. about the city’s major project including the University Park neighborhood and the Gary/Chicago International Airport.
Mikah Meyer is on a world-record road trip to visit all 413 U.S. national parks during the National Parks Service’s centennial. He is in northwest Indiana this week. He arrived at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore on Tuesday night and is staying until Thursday morning. I asked Mikah to tell his story — why he decided to visit all of the parks — what he’s seen and is looking forward to seeing as he continues his trek eastward.
Sustainable Indiana 2016, a Bicenntennial initiative of Earth Charter Indiana, just handed a Green Lights award to Northwest Indiana Green Drinks for its efforts to get people interested in the environment and climate change issues. We talk with the local Green Drinks organizer Kathy Sipple and Shannon Anderson with Sustainable Indiana 2016.
