Region Playing Catch-up On Healthcare

Regionally Speaking was recorded before a live audience at the One Region Health Summit at Avalon Manor in Merrillville, Nov., 22 2013. Prior to the broadcast, a group of people with backgrounds ranging from — education, health care, transportation, the arts and culture, government and housing — have been talking about ways to address the area‚Äôs needs in health care.

Since 2000, One Region has issued a report measuring several quality of life issues. During that time, the area has actually declined in healthcare. During the hour, the conversation ranged from ways t0 improve to the impact of the Affordable Care Act.
