Railcats Fall in Extras
August 28, 2013 – Kansas City, KS – Justin Bass hit a walk-off solo home run off the first thrown by Ian Durham in the bottom of the eleventh as the RailCats lost 3-2 to Kansas City on Tuesday night. Gary SouthShore dropped to 53-40 with the defeat, Kansas City improved to 40-54.
With Winnipeg’s 11-4 defeat at St. Paul, the RailCats still hold a one and a half game lead in the wild card with six games remaining on their schedule.
Bass went to the opposite field, down the left field line, on the first pitch thrown by Durham in the eleventh to give the RailCats their third loss in extra innings this season.
The loss ended a futile night for the RailCats offense which mustered just one hit and three walks in eleven at-bats.
The RailCats and T-Bones continue their series on Wednesday night. The RailCats send RHP Morgan Coombs (5-2, 5.10 ERA) to the mound; the T-Bones will throw RHP Ethan Cole (0-7, 6.04 ERA).
