Purdue trying to end winless conference season

November 26, 2013 (AP) – Purdue hasn’t endured a winless Big Ten season in two decades, and it sure doesn’t want to start now.

On Saturday, the Boilermakers (1-10, 0-7) will get their last chance to end their seven-game conference skid and they can do it against their most bitter rival — Indiana.

Little has gone right this year. The Boilers have struggled to score, can’t keep teams out of the end zone and been unable to run the ball consistently. They’ve changed quarterbacks, dealt with a bevy of injuries and still haven’t beaten a Football Bowl Subdivision foe.

But over the last two weeks, imperfect Purdue has started to show signs of progress, something first-year coach Darrell Hazell has been looking for all season.
