Purdue to mark opening of new cancer buildings
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Purdue University is planning a ceremony to mark the opening of a nearly $29 million facility that will consolidate drug research centers at the school and a $16 million expansion of a cancer research center.
The two new buildings are joining Discovery Park, the university’s hub for interdisciplinary research. Purdue President said the school hopes the Drug Discovery Facility and the Bindley Multidisciplinary Cancer Research Facility will help recruit star researchers and students and make major contributions to a healthier world.
Discovery Park Executive Director Alan Rebar says the buildings will accelerate the school’s efforts to develop a curriculum and learning culture that focuses on all aspects of drug discovery and cancer research.
The ceremony is scheduled for Friday.
