Purdue signs point guard from Indianapolis
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Purdue has signed a high school point guard from Indianapolis after two-year starter Ronnie Johnson decided to transfer.
Coach Matt Painter said Wednesday that the Boilermakers had added P.J. Thompson from Indianapolis Brebeuf. The 5-foot-11 point guard averaged 24 points as a senior.
Johnson chose to transfer last month after his sophomore season.
Painter also said Wednesday that 7-foot sophomore center A.J. Hammons has yet to determine if he will enter the NBA draft. He has until April 27 to decide.
Painter says he is still gathering information for Hammons and will meet with him this week.
