Portage Man Gets Into State’s Business
November 1, 2013 — A Portage man is in the business of state government today.
Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann has appointed Erik Scheub as the public relations director and small business ombudsman for the Office of Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
Prior to joining state government Scheub was a communications director for a non-profit organization where he developed regional and statewide communication initiatives and he worked with community centers on policies and procedures that affected their agencies.
Lt. Governor Ellspermann says, “We know that the largest number of private sector jobs are created and maintained by small and entrepreneurial businesses in all parts of Indiana. Governor Pence and I are committed to supporting small businesses by creating an economic and regulatory environment where they can grow and prosper. By adding this Ombudsman, our Office of Small Business and Entrepreneurship will enhance its service to and communication with this vital segment of our economy, ensuring Indiana continues to be ‘the state that works’ for entrepreneurs.”
She says Scheub will gather information through ongoing interaction with Indiana small businesses to communicate updates about State programs and policies to those businesses. He will also promote and raise awareness of small business successes.
Scheub graduated from University of Southern Indiana.
