Police Want Juvenile Considered “Armed & Dangerous”
June 22, 2013 — Michigan City police are looking for 16-year-old Asa Tompkins as the suspect in a pair of Friday shootings. Michigan City Police Department issued the following statement today:
“On June 21st, 2013 at approximately 6:49PM Michigan City Police were dispatched to the 600 block of Main street Michigan City, IN for the report of two people being shot.
Upon arrival officers found two juveniles to have sustained gunshot wounds.
The two juveniles were transported to the hospital for treatment. At time of report the wounds appear to be non life threatening.
An immediate investigation started into the shooting with officers gathering key evidence and talking with witnesses. The investigation was assigned to Detective Corporal Jason Holaway.
Information was soon gathered which led to the identification of a juvenile suspect. The suspect was learned to be 16 yr old Asa Tompkins. He is now wanted in connection to the shootings and should be considered armed and dangerous.
Police are asking for assistance in locating the suspect and are asked to call the police department if you have information on his location.
Formal charges will be released in the near future.”
