Pence Orders Flags Lowered for Korean War Vets
July 26, 2013 — Governor Mike Pence has instructed government facilities to fly flags at half-staff this Saturday in honor of Korean War veterans and their Armistice Day.
The Korean War ended 60 years ago, claiming the lives of almost 36,000 U.S. troop members, leaving another 103,000 wounded and 8000 missing. The war was fought between Communist North Korea which had invaded South Korea.
In the six decades since, the Republic of South Korea has become a trade partner with the United States. Pence says all Hoosiers should pay tribute to the brave men and women who have defended our nation and our freedom.
