Pence Names New Inspector-General
January 6, 2015 — INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Gov. Mike Pence has named an Indianapolis woman as the state’ss new inspector general.
Cynthia Carrasco has served since 2007 as executive director for the Office of the Inspector General and the Indiana State Ethics Commission. She’ll replace longtime Inspector General David Thomas on Jan. 11.
Thomas had served as Indiana’s first Inspector General for nearly a decade.
Carrasco will become the second person to hold that post, which Mitch Daniels created when he became governor in 2005 to serve as a watchdog against fraud and abuse in state government.
