Pacers working OT to get ready for Wizards

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Two straight wins got the Pacers into the second round of the playoffs.

Four more will send the East’s top seed into the Eastern Conference finals for the second straight season.

Not that Indiana is looking ahead — certainly not with Washington and its young backcourt looming.

Following a tougher-than expected seven-game series win over Atlanta, the Pacers spent Sunday working on a game plan for Monday night’s conference semifinal opener against the Wizards.

Fifth-seeded Washington took advantage of fleet guards John Wall and Bradley Beal to surprise Chicago in five games in the first round.

But after contending with Atlanta’s spread offense and array of 3-point shooters for two weeks, the Pacers think they understand how to defend the Wizards if they try to play small ball.
