NWI Symphony Plays At Taltree In August
August 1, 2014 — Taltree Arboretum & Gardens in Valparaiso welcomes the Northwest Indiana Symphony three Friday nights in August. Each night will feature a different musical ensemble. The concert schedule is as follows:
- August 8 – The string ensemble will play nature-inspired classical music, including selections from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.
- August 22 – A brass quintet will play a menagerie of classic, folk, modern and Broadway show tunes.
- August 29 – The woodwind ensemble will play a travelogue of popular classics from around the world, including a medley of Gershwin.
“We are inspired by nature and the arts,” said Alexis R. Faust, President and CEO of Taltree Arboretum & Gardens. “We enjoy sharing that inspiration with the community through great cultural events, like Music in Nature. Supporting the arts and nature helps to bring balance to our busy lives.”
Each concert begins at 6:30 p.m. The gate opens at 5:30 p.m. Concerts will be held rain or shine. Bring your lawn chair.
Single tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for students and children 5 to 12 years old and children 4 years old and under are free. Three-concert ticket packages are $70 for adults and $25 for students and children 5 to 12 years old. Taltree member discounts are available.
Taltree Grill will be serving up grilled food, sodas, beer, wine and water. No outside alcohol and glass containers are allowed.
