Notre Dame’s Kelly received $607,200 bonus in 2012
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Documents filed with the Internal Revenue Service show Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly earned $607,200 in bonus and incentive pay during fiscal 2012 while leading the Fighting Irish to a berth in the national championship game.
The documents obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press showed Kelly earned a total of $1.46 million in pay and other benefits during the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2013. That’s an increase over the $1.09 million he received the year before and likely wasn’t the total amount of money Kelly was paid. The document states that Kelly is allowed to receive pay from external sources.
The document also shows the university paid $2.05 million to Charlie Weis, who was fired as coach after the 2009 season and now coaches Kansas.
