Notre Dame Campus Renovation Begins In November
August 29, 2014 — The Associated Press — The University of Notre Dame plans to start work in November on a $400 million project that will expand the school’s football stadium and use it as a hub for new academic and student life buildings.
Construction will begin following the final home football game Nov. 22.
The first construction will be on buildings connected to the stadium’s east and west sides. The east side building will have laboratories, classrooms and offices for the anthropology and psychology departments as well as digital media center. The first five levels of the west side will be for student development. Both buildings will be topped by stadium seating and media accommodations.
The construction is expected to add more than 3,000 seats to the stadium that now holds 80,795.
