Nix, Tuitt, Martin headline Notre Dame’s pro day
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Former Notre Dame nose guard Louis Nix III says he hopes NFL scouts got a looked at his slimmed down physique during his workout at the school’s pro day.
The 331-pound Nix says he’s lost 20 pounds working out as he prepares for the NFL draft in May. He says it’s the lightest he’s been since 11th grade. He also says the torn meniscus in his left knee that ended his collegiate career with two regular-season games left is healed and he is healthy.
Nix, defensive lineman Stephon Tuitt and offensive tackle Zack Martin, who have all been mentioned as possible high drafts picks, were among the 16 former Notre Dame players to take part in the workouts Thursday. Scouts from all 32 NFL teams attended the pro day.
