The Munster School Board last night approved a three-year contract for the new Superintendent — Jeffrey Hendrix — with a salary of $155-thousand a year.

School Board President Judith Florczak  said Hendrix comes to Munster from the Sunman-Dearborn Community School Corp. in southeast Indiana, where he has been superintendent since 2009.  The school district’s website says the school community is best described as a bedroom community for the Greater Cincinnati area. The district covers approximately 160 square miles.   The School Corporation operates a high school, middle school, intermediate school and three elementary schools and a state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center.

Earlier in his career, Hendrix was an assistant principal at the School Town of Highland.

He will begin his new job in Munster on July 1st, when Richard Sopko retires.
