New Life For The Wild With 3-2 OT Win Over Blackhawks

In a must win game for Minnesota, the Wild did just that, coming up with a 3-2 overtime victory against the visiting Chicago Blackhawks in game three of their NHL first round playoff series. With the win, Minnesota now trails the Blackhawks 2-1 in the best-of-seven series.

Johnny Oduya scored for the Blackhawks, giving them a 1-0 lead in the first period. The Wild tied it up later in the period, with Pierre-Marc Bouchard’s goal. The Wild scored again in the 3rd, with Zach Parise netting his first playoff goal. The Blackhawks’ Duncan Keith tied the game at 2-2 with his goal for Chicago late in the 3rd period to force overtime. Then, just over two minutes into overtime, Jason Zucker scored the game winner for the Wild. This is the 2nd game that has gone to overtime in the series. The Blackhawks won game 1 in overtime.

The Wild came out firing, outshooting the Hawks with 37 shots on goalie Corey Crawford to Chicago’s 27 on Josh Harding. The Hawks were also out hit by the Wild, 34-13.

Game four will also take place in Minnesota, Tuesday, at 8:30pm.
