National Guard Begins Furloughs

July 8, 2013 – Sequestration has kind of gone under the radar in the last month or so, as Congress found ways to get air traffic controllers back on the job and make other tweaks to the $85 billion in automatic spending cuts, when the failed to pass a budget compromise. There has been no reprieve for the National Guard, including the Indiana Guard, which has already seen two overseas missions canceled because of the cuts — and now begin a series of furloughs.
