Munster Fire Hydrant Work Slows Water Flow

Share Tweet Email

July 15, 2014 — Munster residents may experience unusual water conditions in the coming weeks, starting Wednesday.

Hasse Construction will be working with the Town of Munster to replace fire hydrants in the area, according to a statement from Munster Police.

The crews will be working between 8:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m.

Residents may experience possible water loss and discolored water. If water is discolored, Munster police say to run the cold water and until the water runs clear. Only run your water to clear it up after 5:00 p.m. There is no guarantee that your water will be discolored.

Water will only be shut off if there is a problem while changing the hydrant. You may still use your water during the fire hydrant replacement for bathing, cooking, and drinking.

Munster officials say more information is available at 219-836-6971.
