More Computer Problems For I-STEP
February 12, 2015 — Rachel Morello, State Impact Indiana — If the back-and-forth over the length of the spring test wasn’t enough, online readiness tests for the ISTEP broke down at a number of Indiana schools Thursday morning.
The majority of computers froze up about 20-25 minutes into the online testing period. This is the second time this winter that schools have encountered technical problems during “stress testing.” They faced similar server load issues early last month.
Thursday’s test was originally supposed to take place a few weeks ago, but got rescheduled after the original failures.
ISTEP technology has been watched closely since 2013, when 78-thousand students taking the actual graded test experienced disruptions.
