July 11, 2014 — The Associated Press — A woman whose body was found in a car trunk in Gary has been identified as a missing flight attendant.

Lake County Deputy Coroner George Deliopoulos says 54-year-old DeCarol Deloney-Cain of Crown Point was positively identified through serial numbers on her breast implants.  Her body was found Monday in the trunk of her car in a wooded area on East 22nd Place in Gary.   Coronor Merrilee Frey says photo and dental records also were used to help obtain an identification.

The autopsy listed the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head and multiple stab wounds to the chest suffered in a homicide.

United Airlines contacted Deloney-Cain’s son on Sunday when his mother did not report for work for the first time in 25 years.  She worked on international flights out of O’Hare International Airport.
