McLaughlin Named New Hammond Chief Of Staff

Hammond Mayor Tom McDermott Jr. named a private economic development executive to be his next Chief of Staff.

Mark McLaughlin is a native of Lake County’s largest city and the executive director of the Hammond Development Corporation.  The group manages the Hammond Innovation Center, the Urban Enterprise Association and Towle Community Theatre. McLaughlin is also a former city planning and development director and a vice-president with the Northwest Indiana Forum.

McLaughlin returns to City Hall on April 22nd for Tom Dabertin, who is leaving to become the city’s representative on the Northwest Indiana RDA board.  Dabertin says he will remain a consultant to Mayor McDermott on non-RDA related issues.
