Maassel Is Leaving Northwest Indiana Forum
September 19, 2013 — Northwest Indiana Forum President and CEO Mark Maassel is leaving the economic development group that he’s led for the past three years to become Vice President of the energy trade group Indiana Energy Association on October 16th.
Maassel says he’s been and continues to be excited by the work of the Forum and the progress made. But he says his passion for the gas and electric utility industry has not waned while with the Forum. He was NIPSCO president from 2004 until 2008, when he joined the Northwest Indiana Forum staff.
The Forum’s board chairman Jill Ritchie said that while they may be losing a leader, Northwest Indiana has a friend who can carry the positive message about the region throughout the Hoosier State.
The board will now begin a search for a new chief executive, and Forum staff will continue to attract businesses to relocate or expand existing companies in Northwest Indiana.
