Driver Booked for Library Collision

November 29, 2013 — The director of a northern Indiana library is hoping for quick repairs after an SUV crashed into its entrance area.

The SUV ran off the street, hit a parked vehicle, tree and light pole before running into a limestone wall and railing near the Logansport Public Library’s entrance Tuesday night.

Library director David Ivey says he’s grateful no one was hurt.  He says the library is able to remain open since nothing inside was damaged.

Police say the driver told officers he must have blacked out because he only remembered air bags deploying and the SUV crashing.  Officers saw no signs of drug or alcohol impairment but arrested him on a charge of driving while suspended.
