LaPorte Mayor Interviewed For State Office
July 17, 2013 — LaPorte Mayor Blair Milo is one of six people being interviewed by Governor Mike Pence as a possible replacement for State Auditor Tim Berry. He is expected to resign on July 22nd to become state Republican Party chairman.
The 29-year-old Milo was elected in 2011 and is the youngest mayor in LaPorte’s history. The first-term Republican is a Navy veteran. Milo said in a statement that she is honored to be considered by Pence as State Auditor.
Whoever the Governor appoints will finish out the remaining 18 months of Berry’s term and then seek the GOP nomination for the office in 2014.
