Cedar Lake’s State Senator says she will not seek another term in office due to health concerns.
Senator Sue Landske announced today that she will not seek re-election later this year, marking the first time in nearly forty years her name will not appear on the ballot.
Landske announced in November that she was receiving treatment for lung cancer.
In her statement today Landske said, “I must do what is best for my health and best for the Hoosiers that I serve in Northwest Indiana.”
She plans to continue to serve the remainder of her current term.
Landske has served in the Indiana State Senate since 1984 and spent six years as the Center Township assessor.
