LOS ANGELES (AP) — Hockey fans from coast to coast are all fired up for the start of the Stanley Cup final tonight. The first two games are being played in Los Angeles before the series switches to New York for Games 3 and 4.

The Kings advanced with the elimination of the Blackhawks, while the Rangers knocked out the Canadiens in the Eastern Conference.

New York comes in well rested after beating the Canadiens in six games, earning them a six-day break before the start of the championship series.

The Kings were taken to seven games by the Blackhawks before closing them out last Sunday.

The clubs met twice during the season, a 3-1 win by the Rangers in L.A. and a 1-0 victory by the Kings in New York.
