September 5, 2013 – First it was Brandon Brantley and now Kenny Lowe. Purdue Basketball Coach Matt Painter has again reached to the Region to pluck a new assistant coach. Painter hired Gary native and former Purdue Star Kenny Lowe as an asst. video coordinator after spending the last several seasons in Europe. Lowe is

-Two-time All-Big Ten selection, earning third-team honors in 2003 and second-team accolades in 2004 …

-Two-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year (2003, 2004) …

-Named John Wooden Most Valuable Player in 2004

… Won Ray Eddy “Mr. Hustle” Award in 2001 and 2003, and received Doc Combs “Play Hard” Award in 2004 … Led team in scoring (13.3 ppg), three-point field goal percentage (.386), free throws (116) and free throw percentage (.866) in 2004 … Led team in three-point field goal percentage (.414) and free throw percentage (.887) in 2003 … Led team in free throws (134) and free throw percentage (.865) in 2001 … Ranks second in Purdue history in free throw percentage (.864), ninth in three-point field goal percentage (.398), 10th in free throws (393), 15th in free throw attempts (455) and 38th in scoring (1,079).
