IU’s Vonleh Earns Freshmen of the Week Award

November 11, 2013 -Rosemont, Illinois – Indiana’s Noah Vonleh, a 6-10 forward from Haverhill, Mass., has been named B1G Freshman of the Week for his performance in the Hoosiers win over Chicago State. He produced a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 14 rebounds in his first college game. Vonleh also went 5-for-5 from the free throw line and recorded three blocks in 22 minutes.

He became the fourth freshman in the Tom Crean era to post a double-double in his first-career game, joining Tom Pritchard, Christian Watford and Cody Zeller.

Last year, Kevin Yogi Ferrell also earned Freshman of the Week honors after the first game of the season against Bryant.

It is a busy week ahead for the Hoosiers with IU hosting LIU Brooklyn, Tuesday night at 6 p.m., Samford, Friday night at 7 p.m., and Stony Brook, Sunday night at 5 p.m.
