Islanders, Devils, Sharks still perfect…Hat trick for Seguin
(AP) — In hockey, Kyle Okposo scored his 100th NHL goal to snap a tie 48 seconds into the third period, and the undefeated New York Islanders netted four goals on seven shots in the final frame to beat the sliding New York Rangers 6-3. The Islanders are 3-0.
In other hockey:
— Tyler Seguin scored three goals, including the tiebreaker with 7:44 left in the Dallas Stars’ 4-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
— Cory Schneider made 26 saves, Mike Cammalleri had a tiebreaking goal in the third period, and the New Jersey Devils beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1. The Devils ae 3-0, all on the road.
— Anaheim nipped Philadelphia 4-3 in a shootout. William Karlsson and Jakob Silfverberg each scored in the shootout.
— San Jose outscored Washington 6-5 in a shootout. Joe Pavelski scored the only goal in the shootout as the Sharks won their third straight to open the season.
— Phil Kessel scored 34 seconds into overtime and the Toronto Maple Leafs earned a 3-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche.
— The Buffalo Sabres beat the Carolina Hurricanes 4-3 in a shootout for their first victory of the season. Marcus Foligno had two goals.
— The defending Stanley Cup champion L.A. Kings raced to a 3-0 first period lead and beat Edmonton 6-1. That’s a season-high in goals for the Kings.
— Joe Colborne scored the only goal of the shootout to lift the Calgary Flames to a 3-2 win over the Nashville Predators.
