July, 15, 2014 — Traffic is set to be slower on one stretch of Lincoln Highway starting this week.

The Indiana Department of Transportation announced overnight lane restrictions begin on U.S. 30, between Porter County Road 250W (just west of Valparaiso) and State Road 51, on Tuesday evening.

In a statement, INDOT Northwest spokesperson Matt Deitchley says work crews will be resurfacing the roadway between Valparaiso and Merrillville.

U.S. 30 will be down to one lane in each direction during the overnight hours along this stretch through November as crews resurface the roadway.

INDOT officials say drivers in Northwest Indiana can monitor road closures, road conditions, and traffic alerts at any time via the District’s social media channels: www.Facebook.com/INDOTNorthwest or Twitter @INDOTNorthwest.
