Travellers navigated water, delays and detours Thursday from a storm that put some greater Chicago roads, including interstate highways, under water. Highways such as Bishop Ford and the Borman roadway experience lane closures. Indiana State Police Sergeant Ann Wojas said the ramp from I-80 westbound to southbound Indianapolis Boulevard experienced flooding Thursday afternoon. A sinkhole beneath a south Chicago road collapsed, leaving a pit large enough to hold three cars.
The photo shows a semi-truck going through water on the Bishop Ford roadway at 130th. Photo is courtesy John Klemme of Cedar Lake, who shared the photo around 2pm. He’d been on I-94 for 4 hours.
