Indiana higher ed chief urges college turkey talk
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana Commissioner of Higher Education Teresa Lubbers is urging families to talk about ways to finish college on time this Thanksgiving.
Lubbers said Wednesday that families should learn about her “15 to Finish” effort, which urges students to take 15 credits each semester. Lubbers said that students who take 15 credits each semester typically perform better and have less student debt.
The Indiana program is based on a similar program in Hawaii that greatly improved on-time graduation rates.
