Indiana Dunes State Park Clean Up
June 3, 2014 — Indiana Dunes State Park will host a special beach cleanup on Saturday, June 7.
The event will occur on the east side of the Dunes State Park Pavilion from 9 to 11 a.m. Bags and gloves will be provided by the Alliance for the Great Lakes and DNR staff.
“A perk of beach walking at Indiana Dunes State Park is the ability to take off your shoes or sandals and enjoy a leisure stroll without trash or other debris,” said Margaret Palicka, Lake Michigan Coastal Program assistant and cleanup organizer. “The clean up helps to ensure the multitude of beach uses we offer here.”
Afterward, each participant can enter a raffle to win a prize that has been donated by local businesses.
The event coincides with International Glamping Weekend, which celebrates luxury camping and the ability to experience the great outdoors with many of the advanced amenities we depend on in our daily lives. A glamorous looking beach fits in with the themed weekend.
