Illiana Invitation Gets Five Prospective Partners

A highway project to connect Interstate 65 with I-55 south of Chicago has five prospective private partners today.
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) says today it received Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from five teams to design, build, finance, maintain and operate the Illinois portion of the Illiana highway project. IDOT issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) November 8, 2013, with a submission deadline yesterday.
IDOT says it will evaluate the qualifications submitted by the five teams before choosing teams to advance to the next procurement phase, which will be announced next month.
The five teams that submitted SOQs are:
ILLIANA OPEN ROAD INNOVATORS
Equity Members: SNC-Lavalin Capital, Inc., UIF GP, LLC

Lead Contractor: Illiana Corridor Constructors-Illinois (comprised of Zachry Construction Corporation, SNC-Lavalin Constructors, Inc., and James McHugh Construction Co.)

The Indiana procurement process is underway separately from Illinois.
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) and the Indiana Finance Authority (IFA) made their RFQ submissions for the Indiana portion due January 10, 2014.
IDOT and INDOT are collaboration on technical requirements, tolling policy, the federal environmental approval process and construction schedules for the two-state project.
