Hoosiers pull away from Stony Brook 90-74

November 17, 2013 (AP) – Kevin “Yogi” Ferrell scored 24 points and freshman Noah Vonleh had his fourth straight double-double Sunday to help Indiana pull away from Stony Brook 90-74.

Ferrell turned up the tempo in the second half as the Hoosiers (4-0) finally got in a little rhythm in yet another foul-plagued game. Vonleh had 18 points and 15 rebounds — producing the most consecutive double-doubles for a Hoosier since D.J. White (five straight) in 2007-08.

Stony Brook (3-1) was led by Carson Puriefoy with 22 points and Jameel Warney had 19, but the Seawolves were called for 31 fouls and sent Indiana to the free throw line 49 times.

Still, the Hoosiers just couldn’t put it away till late.Indiana opened the second half on a 12-6 run, extending a six-point halftime lead to 53-41 with 15:23 to play and sealed the win with a late 12-4 spurt.
