INDIANAPOLIS – U.S. Rep. Todd Young, R-9th District, will join Rep. Tim Griffin, R-Ariz., on Saturday to deliver the Weekly Republican Address.
The congressmen will focus on their legislation delaying the implementation of the Affordable Care Act’s employer and individual mandates, which the House passed on Wednesday.
Young said the purpose of their legislation is to be fair by providing the same relief to individuals that the White House proposed for businesses.
“But the individual mandate is just as confusing to individuals, and they don’t have an army of lawyers and accountants at their disposal to make sense of it,” he said in a statement. “This is a simple issue of fairness: hardworking Americans and their families deserve the same sort of tax relief that President Obama is proposing to give to big corporations.”
Young said it is a privilege to introduce the legislation and to address the nation on the issue.
