Topic: SONGWRITING & STORIES BEHIND THE SONGS.
*BONUS! This on demand podcast has 20 minutes of additional audio than the original broadcast!
Due to a situation beyond our control, Grammy Award-winning songwriter and performer Jim Peterik did not make it into The Lakeshore Radio Studio to chat and perform live on the air as was originally planned. Instead, Jim joined show host Tom Lounges live by phone to talk about the process of songwriting and to share stories about various songs he has written with and for other famous artists, including Brian Wilson, Tom Keifer, Steven Tyler, Lynyrd Skynryd and .38 Special.
Peterik performs a solo “Storyteller” concert on February 9th at Chicago Street Theatre in Valparaiso, IN. This radio show was meant as a musical appetizer for that main course “must attend” event for serious music lovers.
Known to support causes close to his heart, Jim Peterik has generously donated this autographed guitar to raise funds for The Humane Society of Northwest Indiana in Gary, IN. This collectible guitar – one of five personally signed by Peterik and several of his rock star friends and songwriting collaborators – will be raffled off at his Sunday, February 9th Chicago Street concert. (See attached photo of guitar).
“Jim Peterik is one of my favorite guests of all time and he’s got a million stories and tunes to go with them. I learn something new every time Jim guests and I’ve known him for over 30 years,” said Lounges. Colorful, personal and charismatic…Jim Peterik never fails to get strong response from my audiences.
