PITTSBURGH (AP) — Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux will miss at least two weeks after sustaining a lower-body injury on the first day of training camp. Giroux left the ice only 15 minutes into the first session at camp. He was selected as a Hart Trophy finalist last season after matching a career high with 28 goals and finishing third in the NHL scoring race with 86 points.

In other NHL news:

— Pittsburgh Penguins star center and reigning NHL MVP Sidney Crosby skated with his teammates when the Penguins opened training camp today. The team had announced on Thursday that Crosby would be held out of the early days of training camp with an unspecified minor injury.

— Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty has missed the first practice of training camp with an upper-body injury. The defending Stanley Cup champions didn’t provide a timetable for his return.

— Anaheim Ducks forward Kyle Palmieri is expected to miss at least two weeks with a high ankle sprain.
