Giants hope to finish off the Cards

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — We could know the World Series match-up later this evening. The scene for the Fall Classic is half set as the Royals wrapped up the American League Championship yesterday by finishing off Baltimore in four straight. Tonight, the San Francisco Giants would join the Royals with a win over the St. Louis Cardinals in San Francisco.

The Giants took a 3-1 series lead last night with a 6-4 win.

The pitching matchup for tonight’s game is a rematch of the series-opening starters, with Madison Bumgarner going for the Giants against Adam Wainwright.

Should the Cardinals win tonight’s game, the series will shift back to St. Louis for Game 6 and, if need be, a Game 7. The sixth game would take place Saturday night with a Game 7 Sunday night.

The World Series will start Tuesday with either the Giants or Cardinals facing the Royals in Kansas City.
