Getting Business Gets Personal at Lakeshore’s Women’s Conference
September 13, 2013 — Lakeshore is helping women who know that personal development means business. Hundreds of women came together today to laugh, learn and talk business at Lakeshore Public Media’s second annual Professional Women’s Conference in Merrillville.
Diana Jordan is a best–selling author and stand-up comedian, and she wants you to know that your life is funny.
As keynote speaker for the second annual Lakeshore Professional Women’s Conference Jordan opened the conference with plenty of laughter which she says is necessary to manage stress and difficult situations.
Attendees also heard from four other speakers, each with a unique message for women looking to further their careers. Author and activist Yvonne Pointer talked about how the murder of her daughter changed her life, while women in Elizabeth Lombardo’s audience considered ways to eliminate negative thoughts and behaviors.
Sam Horn, a pitch coach and communication strategist, shared her techniques for making ideas and projects more clear, compelling, and convincing, while Charmaine Hammond described her bounce forward approach to overcoming challenges. Hammond says the female–only perspective is important to the conference.
Lakeshore Public Media thanks all sponsors for helping make the event a success.
