Airport P3 Plans Prepare for Takeoff
August 9, 2013 — The Gary/Chicago International Airport has taken flight on its public-private partnership venture.
Airport officials and City of Gary leaders held a meeting today to explain the proposal process for private companies that want to work with the airport.
Airport spokesman James Ward says the goal is to enter into a public-private partnership, or P3, agreement with one or more partners in order to manage the airport, to develop new properties on and around it, and to create a capital investment plan.
Ward says the airport hopes to finalize the P3 agreement by the end of October.
